Hans Bohn German type designer, b. Oberlahnstein, 1891, d. Frankfurt am Main, 1980. He worked mostly for Ludwig&Mayer. Creator of these typefaces: Orplid (Klingspor, 1929). An all caps shadow face influenced by the Bauhaus movement, this was digitized as Fernburner NF (2011, Nick Curtis) and even extended to layerable font by Ralph M. Unger as Orplid Pro (2019). Mondial (1936, D. Stempel). This is a didone family, of which Mondial Bold is the most successful member. It was digitally revived by Lukas Schneider in 2017 as Mondial Text and Mondial Display. The fat semi-stencil typeface Allegro (1936-1937, Ludwig&Mayer). Revived by Bitstream as Allegro. See also Alligator by Softmaker. Kuenstler Script (1957 or 1959, Linotype). It is based on Künstlerschreibschrift (Stempel, 1902-1903), which in turn is based on the English copperplate script styles from the late 1800s.
